How it works
How is a weighted course grade calculated?
Each score is multiplied by its weight, the results are added up, and the total is divided by the sum of the weights. If homework is 20% and you have a 95, it contributes 19 points. If your weights don't add up to 100%, the calculator uses the weights you've entered so far — useful mid-semester, before every category has a grade.
How do I find the grade I need on my final?
Needed score = (grade you want − current grade × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight. For example, with an 86 now, a final worth 20%, and a 90 as the goal: (90 − 86 × 0.8) ÷ 0.2 = 106 — out of reach, so aim for the highest letter that's still possible.
Why does my school's grading scale matter?
An 89.5 is a B+ on some scales and an A on others. Set the cutoffs above to match your school so the letter grades are right.
